Name: Rose Marion Tyler

Gender: Female

Age: 21

Allegiance: Good/The Doctor

Appearance: At 5'5 Rose is of fairly average height. Her hair is blonde, with streaks of darker colour, and her brown roots are often showing at her parting. For the most part she wears it down, though she sometimes has it messily pulled back or plaited. Her eyes are probably her most striking feature, being and odd shade of brown and rimmed by thick dark lashes. She is curvaceous yet not out of shape, and with all the running that comes with traveling with the Doctor this is not surprising. Preferring to dress quite casually, Rose is most often to be seen wearing jeans and a t-shirt with trainers or sneakers, though she does dress up when the occasion warrants it.

Personality: Due to her lack of qualifications and working class background, Rose has often been underestimated in the past, with people dismissing her as unintelligent. Needless to say, these postulations are unfounded, and Rose has proven herself to be quick thinking and resourceful many times over. She has the ability to quickly adapt when thrown into strange situations, though on some occasions she has found it hard to assimilate into other cultures and time periods when she has been regarded as inferior by others on account of her gender. Rose has consistently shown courage even when the outlook is bleak, and has a great sense of adventure. Stubborn and determined, Rose will always fight for what she believes in, and once she has set her mind on something, there is very little that will stop her. Rebellious and defiant since she was a child, she has, admittedly, gotten into a fair amount of trouble over the years, and often it is her heart that rules rather than her head.
Her compassion is one of her defining qualities, and in the past has been both a strength and a weakness. Rose hates to see others suffer, regardless of their past deeds and often seems willing to give them second chances.

History: Rose's father died when he was hit by a car when Rose was six months old, and she was brought up by her mother, a hairdresser, on a council estate in London. She went to Jericho Street primary school where she was on the under sevens gymnastics team and won a bronze medal at a school gymnastics competition. This was however the peak of her enthusiasm for formal education, and while she was at her Jericho Street Comprehensive, she would frequently miss classes (or often entire days) to go shopping and to look at boys, hating every second of it. At 14 she began seeing Mickey Smith, and at 15 she was suspended for persuading the choir to go on strike. After bad results in her GCSEs, Rose left school to live with 20 year old musician Jimmy Stone, but the relationship was brief and ended badly, and Rose returned to her Mother and Mickey, heartbroken and in debt. Her mother called in a favour from an ex-boyfriend to get Rose a job in a department store as a sales assistant which was, of course, where she was working when she first met the Doctor.

One night after the shop had closed, Rose heard noises while she was in the basement. When she went to investigate she saw that the mannequins appeared to have come to life. As they advanced on her, a stranger - who would arguably become one of the most significant people in Rose's life - grabbed her hand and helped her escape, saving her life. Though they parted ways afterwards with the man, who introduced himself as "The Doctor" telling her to leave while he destroyed the transmitter being used to control the mannequins, they met again, with Rose subsequently helping him to defeat the Nestene Consciousness underneath the London Eye. When the Doctor offered her the chance to travel with him in the TARDIS, she was initially reluctant, but changed her mind when he told her it could travel in time.

During her time with the Doctor, Rose saw the destruction of Earth, and the death of her father when she was just a baby. She encountered many of the Doctor's old enemies and learnt the consequences of tampering with established events. She also met Jack Harkness, a time agent, who traveled with her and the Doctor in the TARDIS for a while, and who Rose appeared to have a slight attraction to.

During an encounter with the Daleks, the Doctor sent Rose in the Tardis back to her own time to protect her, fearing that they would not survive. Rose however, was not content to remain there, finding herself unable to pick up her old life where she had left it while sometime in the future the Doctor could be dying. With Mickey's help she broke into the TARDIS, absorbing the time vortex by looking into the heart of the spaceship and becoming the Bad Wolf. The vortex allowed her to destroy the Daleks and resurrect Jack, unknowingly granting him immortality. The energy she had absorbed soon began to destroy her and the Doctor kissed her, taking the energy from the vortex into himself, sacrificing his form and regenerating into a new one.

She continued to travel with this "new" Doctor, despiste being a little put off by his regeneration, though she quickly got over her uneasiness about it. She encountered Cassandra for the second time, as well as the Sycorax and Queen Victoria. She also met one of the Doctor's former companions, Sarah-Jane Smith, and Madame Du Pompadour, and she demonstrated definite jealously concerning them and the Doctor, though in Sarah-Jane's case she did eventually overcome it. She and the Doctor visited the parallel earth where her father was still alive and where Rose would later become trapped. They came up against and defeated the cybermen in London, but Mickey decided to stay behind, leaving Rose and the Doctor to return to their own universe.

In th pivotal battle of Canary Wharf Rose refused to leave the Doctor to fight the Daleks and the Cybermen alone, despite his attempts to send her to the parallel universe where she would be safe, telling him that she wanted to stay with him forever, even if it meant never seeing her mother or Mickey again. She was almost pulled into the void into which the Doctor was sending the Daleks and the Cybermen, but she was saved by her father from the parallel eart and taken there, and though alive, Rose was trapped in that world, unable to return to the Doctor.

Rose and the Doctor were eventually able to say their final farewells on a beach in Norway when the Doctor was able to project and image of himself by orbiting a dying star as he closed the gap between the worlds, and it was at this final meeting that Rose finally confessed that she loved him.

Stuck in alternate universe, she, her mother, and Mickey went to live in her father's house, and Rose went to work for Torchwood, a job which she felt suited to because of her travels with the Doctor, and which she knew would give her access to the technologies that she hoped one day would allow her to return to her own world and the Doctor.

Not a day has gone by since Rose last saw the Doctor that she hasn't thought about him, and with recent developments in the parallel world she suddenly found herself able to teleport back to this world, where is determined that she will find the Doctor again

Roleplay Sample: Absolutely ancient as I haven't properly RPed in a while, so please excuse the crappiness >.<

The diner. Hardly the height of sophistication, but it was (slightly) more interesting than sitting at home watching breakfast TV (and at least they served coffee). Boredom and a slight hangover were what had driven Matilda out of her flat on this slightly damp morning. It was 9am and the streets of Stepney were becoming busier by the minute with people going about there business (legal or otherwise), unaware of the pair of blue eyes that watched their movements as they passed by the slightly grotty diner. This habit of watching people came from almost four years of doing a job that required constant vigilance if one was to avoid being caught and she did it now almost without realising.

She sat with a half empty cup of coffee in front of her and a ciggarette in her hand, her blonde hair looking very tousled this morning, wearing skinny jeans and sneakers, and a grey hoody that was too big for her. The origin of the hoody she couldn't quite remember, most likely it had belonged to a previous boyfriend and found its way into her wardrobe - it wouldn't exactly be the first time. She took a drag from her ciggarette and tapped it against the ashtray. She had officially given up smoking three months ago, but one every now and then couldn't hurt, right?

Other: The Sonic Screwdriver vs the Fact in Time.

I've left the end of her history quite vague just in case you have anything in aprticular planned plotwise, I'm also taking it as though the events of series 4 haven't happened yet, but I can change it if you'd rather :).
